What is Microblading?Microblading is a semi-permanent enhancement service that is different from traditional tattooing. Instead of an electrical machine such as a tattoo gun, microblading involves using a pen- like hand tool to deposit pigment into the skin and create hair like strokes to create a fuller natural brow look.
-
What are Ombré Powder Brows?Ombré Powder Brows (also known as powder, mist, microshading, ombré shading, or stardust brows) differs from traditional tattooing in that it is surface work—meaning, the application is done on the epidermis layer of the skin. The technique is described by its name, with results being powdery with a faded front and a crisp tail, resembling the look of makeup.
-
Am I a candidate for cosmetic tattooing?I do not provide this service for people: -Under 18 years old -Pregnant or nursing -On blood thinners -On steroids (must be discontinued 4 weeks prior) -On antibiotics (must be discontinued 2 weeks prior) -Who have hemophilia -Uncontrolled high blood pressure -Uncontrolled diabetes -Allergy to makeup or pigment (if unsure schedule a consultation so we can patch test) -Psoriasis or eczema on the area of treatment -Keloid easily -Used Accutane in the past year -Used Retin-A or Retinol in the past 4 weeks -Received cosmetic injectables in the past 6 weeks -Received laser treatments, glycolic peels, or chemical peels near/on treatment area in the past 4 weeks -Use of any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products close to the eyebrow area (must discontinue 2 weeks prior)

Does it hurt? Most clients will agree that the procedure is tolerable with a pain level of 3-5 (0-none, 10-worst). A highly-effective topical anesthetic gel containing lidocaine is used for numbing before and during your procedure. As a needle or blade is used in the application, a certain level of discomfort is to be expected. But the pain level is similar to that of laser hair removal, or teeth cleaning. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of the procedure.
-
How do you select the color and shape?During your consultation, we will discuss your preferences. Together, we will pre-draw the shape and design of your brows. I will not begin the process until you have approved the color and design.
-
How long will it last?Permanent makeup can last for 1-3 years. A touch up is required 6-10 weeks after the initial appointment. Clients that choose a soft ombré or microblading application, light color shade or did not follow the after care instructions may require more touch up appointments. Factors that will cause your permanent makeup application to fade faster include: tanning bed/sun exposure, exfoliating, oily skin, profuse sweating (e.g. hot yoga 5x/week), medical conditions. We recommend a yearly "color boost" touch-up to maintain the procedure’s color integrity, but always advocate holding off for as long as possible to maintain skin integrity.
-
Is there any down time? You can go right back to work after the procedure. However, your brow area may feel tender and slightly swollen for a few days. You may resume exercise after 3 days. No swimming or drenching your brows with water for one week, until your brows are fully healed.
-
What do I need to know before my appointment?-Do not drink alcohol or caffeine 24 hours prior to your procedure. Do not drink alcohol in excess after your procedure as it will slow down your healing process. -Do not take an Aspirin, Aleve, Ibuprofen, Niacin, Vitamin E, B6, Omega 3/Fish Oil capsules for 7 days prior to your procedure, unless medically necessary. You may resume immediately after the procedure, but these will thin the blood and compromise pigment retention in your skin. -Do not wax, tan or tint the eyebrow area 3 days before your appointment. -Avoid tanning so we can assess your natural skin tone. -Feel free to come in with your brow makeup on so I can see the every day look you prefer. Reference pictures of shapes and colors of brows are always welcomed. We will then work together to create the perfect brows! -No anti-aging treatments such as microdermabrasion, retinol, chemical peels, laser, facials 4 weeks before your appointment. -No facial injections 6 weeks prior to procedure. -On the day of your appointment avoid caffeine/exercise and wash your hair prior to since hot showers are not recommended.
-
How long does it take to heal? The immediate healing process takes about 7-10 days, however, the brow area takes 3-4 weeks for your new eyebrow tattoo to shed completely and the pigment to surface to its true color.
-
What are the post care procedures? The day of the treatment: Absorb After the procedure, gently blot the area with clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every 5 minutes for the full day until the oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymphatic fluids. Days 1-7: Wash Wash daily to remove bacteria, build up of product and oils, and dead skin. (Don't worry, THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT!) Gently wash your eyebrows each morning and night with water and an antibacterial soap like Dial Soap, Cetaphil, or Neutrogena. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows. Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or exfoliants. Days 1-7 Moisturize Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. NEVER put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo. AWM should have you covered, but here are some extra tips to help with a smooth and easy recovery: Important Reminders Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color. No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks. Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week. Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors. Avoid long, hot showers for the first 10 days. Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days. Avoid face-down swimming, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 10 days, Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the area. DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area. Remember, with the proper prep and aftercare routine, you will have much better results with your microblading procedure. Don’t forget your new favourite acronym: AWM - Absorb, Wash, Moisturize! Important note about showering: Limit your showers to 5 minutes so that you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure area out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair. Your face should only be getting wet only at the end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.

I already have my eyebrows tattooed/microbladed and want to change. Can you help?Unfortunately, we do not work over another artist’s work. Exceptions may be if the color is invisible or has been removed completely.
-
What are eyelash extensions?Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic lashes of different lengths, curls and weight (thickness) cut in the shape of a natural lash and applied one-by-one to each individual natural lash as an ‘extension’ of your natural lash. Lash extensions are not strip lashes, clusters or flares. Lash extensions are meant to lengthen, thicken and enhance the natural lash line without causing any pain, discomfort or lash loss when applied properly.
-
How long does it take to apply eyelash extensions? The lash extension application can take anywhere from 1.5-2 hours, depending on the fullness of your natural lashes. The normal human eye has 150-200 lashes per eye. The more lashes that you have, the more extensions we can apply! This is a meticulous procedure that requires patience and concentration. Therefore, it is important not to rush the process so that you can leave with a perfect set of lashes! You will be relaxing with your eyes closed, and you will feel no pain as this is a non-invasive procedure. Many of our clients are so relaxed that they often fall asleep!
-
Can eyelash extensions be removed?Yes. Your extensions can be removed at anytime. This takes about 30 minutes with our acetone free adhesive remover.
-
Can I still wear makeup?Yes, but most clients don't even feel the need to wear eye makeup...Just wake up and go! No more running, streaking, smudging, or flaking mascara. You can still use eyeliner and eye shadows as usual, as long as it is not waterproof or liquid, as these products will break down the adhesive. Mascara is NOT recommended, as this will break down the adhesive, clump up the extensions and cause your extensions to come off earlier than expected.
-
How safe are eyelash extensions? The lashes are applied directly to the natural lash, never applied to the skin. The procedure is pain free and the extensions are feather light, so they will not pull your natural lashes out. We do not clump lashes together, apply them to the skin, or damage your natural lashes with an improper application. The eyes should always remain closed while receiving this procedure.
-
How long do they last?Lash extensions require touch ups every 2-3 weeks to maintain their fullness. The longivity of your extensions will vary based upon your natural lash growth cycle; if your hair grows fast, then so will your extensions, and fills will be needed more often. If you follow our instructions for caring for your lash extensions, your lashes will remain fuller longer. The average human eye sheds 5-7 natural eyelashes per day, this is 70-90 natural lashes within 2 weeks (half your natural eyelashes), this is why we recommend fills every 2 to 3 weeks. If you return for a fill with less than 40% of your extensions in place, you will be required to obtain a full set. Rates are set based upon time and coverage applied.
-
Who should not get eyelash extensions? An individual with any allergy to adhesives or cyanoacrylate adhesives. An individual who has undergone chemotherapy over the last six months, or an individual who does not have natural eyelashes may not have Eyelash Extensions applied. Lashes that grow into the eye are not candidates for lash extensions either. If you suffer from an eye infecton or a degenerative disease of the eye, we cannot apply lash extensions to your eyes. If your sleep on your face (stomach sleeper) you should not get eyelash extensions, you will continually end up rubbing them off in your pillow, and then be needing a full set at each fill appointment.
-
Can I get my lashes wet?Even though your lash extensions are waterproof, we do not recommend getting your lashes wet on a regular basis. We recommend avoiding allowing the shower water to beat down on your lash extensions, as anything constant and repetitive can cause your lash extensions to come off prematurely.
-
What is a lash lift?A lash lift is a process where your natural lashes are curled and lifted to give you a more noticeable, enhanced look.
-
How long does the treatment take?About an hour and a half, but it depends on the density and thickness of your lashes.
-
What do I need to do to prep for the treatment?Simply arrive eye-makeup and lash-extension free! Think squeaky clean lashes... If you wear 'tube forming' or waterproof mascara, or wore false lashes the day before, pay extra attention to remove all product and glue! Face and brow makeup is totally fine! Arriving with eye makeup on will eat into your treatment time and will likely affect lift results which will not be corrected without an additional full charge appointment, as well as cause sensitivities due to the micro-abrasions caused from rubbing your eye area excessively before the appointment.
-
Is there any maintenace, fills or removal involved after the treatment?"No, just re-book in 6-8 weeks to recreate the original results!
-
Is there any damage to my natural lashes? How will they grow out?No. The treatment effects last as long as your natural eyelash cycle. As your eyelashes naturally shed over the course of their life cycle, they will grow back in their natural position and tone.
-
What are the possible side effects? Is this procedure safe?Your lashes will be lifted onto a specially shaped lifting pad, tailored to your eye shape and size, prior to application to avoid products touching your skin and getting in the eye. Since the treatment products never touch the skin during the process any possible irritation is minimized. Mild redness around the eye may occur due to the product removal process (wiping eyes with gentle, lint-free wipes), but should disappear within a few minutes after the treatment. Each treatment is individually packaged to ensure minimal use of preservatives and maximum hygienic control. As with any cosmetic, in absolute rare cases, allergic reactions can develop. Let us know if you are prone to allergic reactions to makeup and skincare products around your eyes or skin beforehand.
-
How often should I get my brows done? Most women should get their brows done every 3-4 weeks.
-
What to avoid before getting eyebrows waxed?Avoid using any retinol based creams or exfoliating products, as they can make the skin more sensitive to wax.
